At AGC’s 2023 Excellence in Safety luncheon, Andy Davidson, Superintendent for Mass Excavation, was awarded the Individual Safety Award for his dedication and commitment to bringing his crews home safely every day. When asked his thoughts about the award and what safety meant to him, Andy said, “This award was definitely a surprise. It is really special, and I’m honored to receive it. I think this award proves that success is no accident and that it is a group effort.”

At his daily safety meetings, Davidson says he tries to keep workers engaged by focusing on the safety concerns they’ll be working with each day and making sure everyone’s point of view on the situation is heard.

Ultimately, Davidson hopes that the award, “helps send a message to those within our company, and to newcomers, that safety is very important to us,”.
